Dating violence is defined as a pattern of repeated actual or threatened acts that physically, sexually or verbally abuse a member of an unmarried heterosexual or homosexual couple.

- The rates of adolescents experiencing some form of dating violence varies from 20-60 percent.
- The age of women experiencing the highest per capita rate of intimate partner violence, is between 16 and 24 years.
