The Prostate Cancer Multidisciplinary Team at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System was developed to help guide men through diagnosis and the many treatment options available for prostate cancer, including daVinci® robotic minimally invasive surgery, CyberKnife®, brachytherapy and IMRT. Our remarkable patient experience centers around a team approach. Patients will have the opportunity to meet with an urologist and a radiation oncologist. Our fast-track approach prevents delay in treatment.
Every patient will be offered a comprehensive evaluation by an urologist and radiation oncologist. Each case will be reviewed by our specialized team, from which a customized treatment plan will be created. This individualized plan includes a specific treatment approach and plan for recovery.
At Saint Joseph Mercy Health System we believe cancer care should be centered on the whole patient, not just the cancer itself. That’s why we provide patients a team approach to care. In addition to our urologic nurse practitioner, an oncology social worker, nutritionists and research nurses are available to help manage the disease process.
