for them. We dissect the food guide pyramid and discuss the different components
that make up food and how they affect your body.
Dietary II
This lecture covers the basic guidelines for eating out. Because we know that
you can't avoid eating out, we provide key words or phrases that will help you
make the best choices when you go into a restaurant. Some of the information
might surprise you.
Dietary III
Overwhelmed by the many things that a food label has on it? Our dietician comes
for this lecture to help teach you how to read food labels and what to look
for in the grocery store. This is also the chance for you to ask your many dietary
questions.
Emotional Recovery
It is common for cardiac patients and their families to feel overwhelmed and
drained after going through a cardiac event. Our Social Worker, Natalie, discusses
the mental and emotional effects of heart disease for the patient and the family.
Risk Factors
What are risk factor for heart disease and can you change them? Sometimes the
news media confuses us with what they say are risk factors for heart disease.
We discuss what the risk factors for heart disease area and whether or not they
can be changed.
Stress Management
You can never avoid stress, but you can choose how you will react to it. This
lecture discusses how stress affects your body in different ways. We even provide
relaxation techniques and suggestions.
