When you bring you school to the Michigan Heart & Vascular Institute at
St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Healthy Hearts 101 program, you can expect to spend
about 1 ½ hours her during your visit. This includes:
- A 45 minute Power Point Lecture
- A 45 minute Hands-on presentation
Programs for schools are offered on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m and 10:30 a.m. during the school year.
Programs for Scout Troops, Church groups and Summer Camps
are offered throughout the summer. Call 734-712-5204 to register.
Reservations are required for all programs.
Fees
The cost for all programs is FREE.
When can I come?
Programs for schools are offered on the second Tuesday of
each month at 9:30 a.m and 10:30 a.m and on the fourth Tuesday of each month at
9:30 a.m, during the school year. Programs for Scout Troops, Church groups and
Summer Camps are offered throughout the summer. Call 734-712-5204 to register. We ask that you arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the program. Reservations are required for all programs.
Do you have chaperone requirements?
Yes. Students are to be divided into groups of five prior to their arrival.
There is to be a minimum of one chaperone per group.
Do you have eating facilities?
No. Food, drinks, and gum are not allowed in the Michigan Heart & Vascular
Institute Auditorium. We encourage you to make lunch arrangements off campus.
What if we arrive late?
Please call the registration line and inform the coordinator of the delay. In order to accommodate all of our guests, groups arriving late will have their program shortened to stay within the scheduled time slot.
Where should our bus drop us off?
Buses enter the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor main campus and follow
the signs to “Specialty Centers”. Michigan Heart & Vascular
Institute at 5325 Elliott Dr. PO Box 977, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48106. Buses may
pull up to the front door to drop the students off. Please have a representative
from the school come into the main lobby to let the Canopy person know that
you have arrived. A coordinator of the Healthy Hearts 101 program will come
onto the bus to greet you and your students.
What if we have to cancel our visit?
Please call 734-712-5204 if you need to cancel or change your visit for any
reason. We prefer a two week cancellation notice.
