Celebrating Cancer Survivors - June 7 05/21/2012 St. Joe’s hosts fourth annual Cancer Survivor Symposium to celebrate, remember and offer hope
St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor invites cancer survivors, their families and caregivers to an evening of celebration and education at its fourth annual Cancer Survivor Symposium. The symposium is scheduled for Thursday, June 7, from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Enjoy a night filled with activities and information, complete with a butterfly release at the end.
Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy the music of Tropicool jazz guitarist, Steven Springer; and learn the latest in cancer treatments and support from cancer specialists, doctors and nurses.
The timing of the Cancer Survivor Symposium is appropriate, as 25th annual National Cancer Survivors Day is Sunday, June 3. Hundreds of communities throughout the world will observe the annual National Cancer Survivors Day, an annual worldwide celebration of life. It provides an opportunity for all people living with a history of cancer - including America's 12 million cancer survivors - to connect with each other, celebrate milestones, and recognize the healthcare providers, family, and friends who have supported them along the way.
St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor’s own celebration, the symposium, will be held at the Education Center Auditorium, Administration Building, 5305 Elliott Drive, Ypsilanti, located on the campus of St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor.
Registration is requested, but not required and the event is free of charge. For more information call (734) 712-HOPE (4673) or visit stjoeshealth.org/survivor.
