St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor to hold Community Open House for new Outpatient Surgery Center
Family-friendly event offers sneak peek before June opening

Ann Arbor, Mich. – (April 23, 2014) St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor is holding an open house for the community to visit its new 43,000 square-foot Outpatient Surgery Center on Saturday, May 10 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will enable visitors to tour the surgery center and its advanced technologies, including scope video integration equipment, LED lighting and nine operating rooms nearly double the size to accommodate today's surgical team, equipment and technology.

Inspirit Salon & Spa, the hospital's campus salon and spa, will be offering complimentary chair massages. The Farm at St. Joe's—the only hospital-based farm in the country—will be on hand with an interactive farm station. Meet several of St. Joe's trained security dogs. Children can dress up as surgeons and nurses in surgery masks, gloves and boots, and there will be several giveaways taking place.

“This new outpatient surgery center allows us to do state-of-the-art surgical procedures while providing patents with a holistic healing experience,” says Suzette Bouchard-Isackson, vice president, surgical services, St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor and Livingston hospitals. “We understand surgery is a major event in the lives of patients and their families and we want to make it as comfortable and convenient as possible."

The Outpatient Surgery Center is located on the St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor campus adjacent to the Helen S. and Marion S. DeWeese M.D. Surgery Pavilion, located at 5360 McAuley Drive, in Ypsilanti, Mich. Free parking is available.
