In July 2013, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan recognized St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor as one of the first hospitals in the nation to receive a Blue Distinction Center+SM designation in the area of cardiac care, as part of the Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care® program. Blue Distinction Centers are hospitals shown to deliver quality specialty care based on objective, transparent measures for patient safety and health outcomes that were developed with input from the medical community. Blue Distinction® Centers+ (BDC+) also met cost measures that address consumers’ need for affordable healthcare. To find out which services are covered under your policy at any facilities, please call the customer service number on the back of your Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield identification card or call your local Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield plan.
Physicians at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System (SJMHS) founded the Michigan Heart & Vascular Institute (MHVI) to redefine the standard of cardiovascular care and achieve a rare level of collaboration among medical specialties.
Through years of teamwork, we have accomplished this critical objective while greatly improving the quality of patient outcomes, access to answers and our communication with patients, their families and primary care physicians.
Michigan Heart & Vascular Institute (MHVI), located on the campus of St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, is a regional leader in cardiovascular care, offering one of the largest and most comprehensive programs in the state.
SJMHS cardiovascular physicians are leaders at the state, regional and national levels and contribute to continuously improving the standard of cardiovascular care. Our patients experience quality results that compare with the best programs in the United States. We are dedicated to providing you with the CardiacAdvantage®.
