Program Goals

The program goals are to provide an ambitious educational curriculum based on the ACGME Core Competencies and which includes didactic teaching and research skills resulting in regional and national presentations and publication in peer-review journals. Operative and colonoscopic techniques and updated care plans are emphasized. The resident will be highly prepared to pass the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery Qualifying and Certifying examinations. We expect our graduating residents to be well prepared to offer the best of care to patients with diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus and to give back to the field of Colon and Rectal Surgery through a lifelong commitment to meritorious research and other scholarly activities.
