Quality of life for our residents and peace of mind for their families
is the promise of Huron Woods.
Our caregivers focus on the physical, emotional and spiritual well being of our residents. Residents are treated with extraordinary kindness and concern by staff, many of who have dedicated their lives to serving the elderly. All staff members participate in an extensive training program to increase their understanding of memory loss and develop specialized skills to provide exceptional care; on-going training is fundamental to quality care.
Quality of Life Programming
Our customized life enrichment program provides a variety of meaningful activities for all levels of cognition. Residents may choose to participate in movement classes, discussion, gardening and baking groups, outings, social hours, playing games or watching movies as their abilities allow. They can look forward to weekly religious services, art and music therapy and performances by local musicians. Holiday and seasonal events provide residents and families with traditional celebrations. Those with more advanced memory loss engage in activities to reinforce senses and bring pleasure.
Our dining services team prepares delicious home-cooked food from scratch. Residents enjoy three nutritious meals and snacks daily. Family members are invited to dine with loved ones. Our holiday and special event meals are favorites for both residents and family members. Modified diets may also be accommodated.
Because you want the best for those you love.
Our philosophy of care drives everything we do. We emphasize the individual and maximizing their unique abilities, not their disease or disability. We build relationships of trust and respond to resident’s challenges with emotional support, warmth, respect and empathy. We adapt to their changing needs. We work closely with family members to create our resident’s home away from home.

“What I tell people about Huron Woods is they didn't just take care of my Mom, they LOVED her. For me, having someone else care for Mom 24/7 gave me the freedom to just be her daughter. I was still involved in her care, but I was able to sleep at night, knowing that she was in capable hands and well loved.”
