Huron Woods roomsOften caregivers need a break to tend to their health needs and overall wellness. Short-term respite stays assist the caregiver in rejuvenating, finding time to address things they often put off and providing additional support - especially when family members live out of town.

To support caregivers, Huron Woods offers respite stays for persons with mild, moderate and advanced dementia. Huron Woods is a licensed home for the aged for persons with dementia located on the campus of St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor Hospital. Loved ones are cared for in a home-like setting with family-like care by a team of highly qualified staff.

Respite stays include:

  • Furnished resident room with private attached bath.
  • 3 home-cooked meals and snacks daily
  • Participation in life enrichment activities and excursions
  • Assistance with activities of daily living and personal care
  • Medication administration
  • 24-hour nursing oversight
  • Personal laundry
  • Access to beauty shop services

Respite stays are typically 7-10 days, however extended stays are also available.
