As a board certified Mastectomy Fitter, Judy Vealey has over 10 years experience in health care, with the last seven in the mastectomy field. Post Mastectomy Surgical Camisoles
A post-mastectomy surgical camisole provides interior pockets to hold your post surgical drain bulbs and accommodate a temporary breast form, if needed.
Post Mastectomy Leisure Forms and Bra
Upon removal of your drains, you may choose to wear a post-mastectomy leisure bra. It is designed to offer mild support and there are interior pockets, which hold the light-weight post-mastectomy leisure form. Typically worn up to three months.
Silicone Breast Forms and Mastectomy Bras
A mastectomy bra is similar to a leisure bra but offers a supportive fit. It has an inner pocket that
holds the breast prosthesis in place. Inspirit Cancer Support Services carries a variety of silicone breast prosthesis styles, including: weighted, climate control, lightweight, attachable, leisure and swim forms.
Lumpectomy / Partial Breast Forms
Lumpectomy and partial forms come in many shapes and styles. This prosthesis is ideal for post-lumpectomy, post-reconstruction, and enhancement of under-developed breasts.
Custom Breast Prosthesis
Some advantages of a custom prosthesis:
- They mirror the shape and size of the intact breast to provide symmetry.
- They are made to your chest wall allowing the form to fit like a puzzle piece.
- There is no need for a surgical mastectomy bra.
- They are very lightweight.
- Available in over 20 skin tone colors.
Head Coverings
Attractive wigs, hats, turbans, and scarves are available at Inspirit. A certified cosmetologist provides free head shavings and certified wig fitters will provide a FREE 1 hour wig consultation and fitting. Your first hair cut is complementary after your course of treatment has been completed and hair growth has resumed.
Massage
Inspirit also provides a FREE one hour Swedish massage for all oncology patients receiving treatment at St. Joe's. The cancer coupon must be signed by the physician prior to the therapist providing the service.
